What is AquaDefender?
The AquaDefender is an innovative Dutch product that protects your home from water damage. Made from water-repellent plastic and high-quality moss combined with foam rubber, this flood barrier is easy to install in your door frame using a tension block system. The rubber specially made for AquaDefender ensures a perfect seal, even with small irregularities in the door frame.

Installation
Place the AquaDefender easily in the frame on the threshold or on the exterior wall. For optimal sealing, it is important that the threshold or wall is even. For inward-opening doors, you need a minimum threshold of 6 cm, and for outward-opening doors at least 4 cm. Always measure this width with the door closed.

The AquaDefender is easy to install. The first time you install the AquaDefender, you need to determine the position of the bridge based on the width of your door/frame. The bridge only needs to be installed once and can remain in place for use.
Next, the AquaDefender is installed with two steps. First, you tension the AquaDefender horizontally. Then, you bring the two walls together by tightening the two knobs.

Is my door/entrance suitable for installing AquaDefender?
You place the AquaDefender in the frame on the threshold. Keep in mind that the AquaDefender only seals properly if it is installed on a flat threshold. You need a minimum threshold of 6 cm for inward-opening doors. For outward-opening doors, a minimum threshold of 4 cm is required. This should be measured with the door closed.

When do I install the AquaDefender?
Two factors influence when you should install the AquaDefender preventively. First, your location. Do you live in an area where water nuisance occurs at yellow alert (>30 mm in 1 hour) or orange alert (>50 mm in 1 hour)? With the Weer Alarm Nederland app, you are well informed and receive push notifications for weather warnings and alarms for your own province, the North, East, West, or South region, or the entire country.
